Mission Statement

The mission of the Markey Cancer Foundation, originally established as the McDowell Cancer Foundation, is to support the UK Markey Cancer Center in the advancement of patient care and support, clinical and laboratory research, and education.

We embrace these concepts on behalf of cancer patients and their families and the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

advancement in cancer research programs and promising young researchers

education through programs in conjunction with the Markey Cancer Center

fostering innovative and patient care

endowment of chairs and professorships to recruit and retain exceptional physicians and researchers for Markey.

Now celebrating over 30 years, the Markey Cancer Foundation continues to support the research efforts of the Markey Cancer Center.
