About Us

30 Years of Dedicated and Caring Service

Here’s how your donations have been used during the 30-year history of the Markey Cancer Foundation:

The donations received by the Markey Cancer Foundation constructed the four buildings that now comprise the UK Markey Cancer Center:

  • The Ben F. Roach Cancer Care Facility (1986)
  • The Dorothy Enslow Combs Research Facility (1989)
  • The M. Margrite Davis and Ralph E. Mills MRISC Facility (1992)
  • The Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson Cancer Facility for Women (2001)

Additionally, the Markey Cancer Foundation continues to raise millions for the UK Markey Cancer Center to:

  • advance cancer research programs and promising young researchers,
  • foster innovative patient care,
  • purchase state-of-the-art scientific equipment, and
  • endow chairs and professorships to recruit and retain exceptional doctors at the Markey Cancer Center.
